Registration for the 2024 Autopsy Certification Training Programme

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

The National Institute for Health Services Management (INMSS) will start enrolment for the training programme to obtain certification for autopsies from 15 March 2024, according to the Order of the Minister of Health No 958 of 31 March 2022.

Romanian high school graduates, with or without baccalaureate, and foreign citizens who provide proof of high school graduation with a recognized or equivalent diploma according to Romanian law can apply for this program. Registrations will be made on the PERFMED platform www.perfmed.ro

The autopsy certification training program will begin no earlier than MAY 2024 and consists of:

  1. a theoretical training module of about 2 and a half months on the PERFMED platform, completed with an end-of-course exam with a fee of 3.600 lei
  2. a theoretical exam on the PERFMED platform with a fee of 500 lei
  3. a 240-hour practical training module organised in one of the accredited practical training centres, the fee being announced at the time of registration
  4. a practical examination with verification of compliance with the practical training scale, held in front of a committee in one of the practice centres, with the fee being announced at the time of registration.

The following steps are required to apply for the autopsy training programme:

Creation of a learner account on the PERFMED platform to which it is attached:

  1. Proof of payment to the INMSS account of the fee of 3.600 lei – theoretical autopsy training module fee
  2. Baccalaureate diploma or, if applicable, a document proving high school graduation
  3. Copy of identity card
  4. GDPR form

All documents submitted in copy must be completed with the phrase ‘certified true’ and signed on each page.

The maximum number of places for this autopsy training series is 60 and registration will be on a space limited basis. In case of withdrawal from the programme after its start, the fee is not refundable. If withdrawal from the programme is made no later than one day before the start of the programme, the fee is refunded in full. Participants enrolled in this series will start training in May 2024 at the earliest. Registration can continue for the next series of 60 autopsy training which will start in October 2024.

NOTE: Upon completion of the autopsy training through the full completion of the theory module and passing the practical examination the autopsy certification is awarded. Autopsies who have completed training under WHO No 958/2022 and who wish to obtain certification as a tanatopractor are required to enrol in the practical training as a tanatopractor and pass the practical examination. It is not possible to change the option of training from autopsy officer to tanatopractor after completion of the theoretical training module and passing the theoretical examination for autopsy officers.
